We believe in equipping students as whole people. Based on research found in Resilient Ministry (Burns, Chapman and Guthrie, 2013), these groups are formative cohort experiences to promote sustainability for a lifetime of ministry. They will also increase skills of ministering to the suffering and healthy conflict resolution through reflection on your own story. Due to the nature of information shared in this context, we have found it best to do in gender specific groups.
Required Cohort Groups
Mandatory for Master of Divinity and Master of Ministry students, these groups require registration as a course and are listed as AT305 and AT306 for main campus students and AT305.C and 306.C for online students. Students will then be assigned to a group by the Student Life staff.
Main Campus Students
Groups will meet either on Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday from 10 to 10:55 a.m. If you have registered for the course, look for announcements in Canvas and an email from Student Life with information about location, time, group members and your group leader. You don't need to be in the MDiv or MAM degree program to desire whole person transformation through story work during your time at CTS. That is why we have made this experience available to students in any degree program as well as student spouses. These are closed groups meaning members cannot be added after the groups have been formed, which is typically within the first two months of the academic year. Due to the nature of the group, they require a year commitment to honor the sharing of stories of each group member. First-year students are given priority but if you are beyond your first year at Covenant and would like to join, please express interest by emailing
