To complete many of the steps, you must have an active My CTS account. If you have not set up your My CTS account, please find the "Welcome to Covenant Seminary!" email you received and reset your password to log in.
To confirm your intention to enroll at Covenant Seminary, please submit a $100.00 tuition deposit to us within 30 days of receiving your welcome email.
Then select Tuition deposit from the Available Items (click View all if necessary).
Your deposit will be applied to your first semester's tuition on the first day of the classes.
Step 2: Meet with your Academic Advisor
All students have an academic advisor who is assigned to them based on the degree program they are pursuing. Your advisor will be reaching out soon to set up a call with you, but you are encouraged to use their link to set up a time with them first:
If you're not sure who your advisor is, please email advising@covenantseminary.edu and we can confirm your advisor and send this scheduling information to you.
Step 3: Register for Classes
Course offerings for the upcoming academic year (Summer through Spring) are generally available in March. Students should meet with their academic advisor before adding any courses.
Students must also complete the online FAFSA to be eligible to receive aid (our offices receive the FAFSA form in about 5 business days)
You should receive your award letter within a few days of completing your FAFSA and the Financial Aid Application. You may then choose to accept, reduce, or decline the amount you are awarded when you confirm your award.
Students taking a minimum of 6 credit-hours each semester are eligible for student loans.
Step 5: Register for Bible Content or Language Placement Exams
All master's-level degree-seeking students* are required to pass the Bible Content Exam prior to graduation from Covenant. This exam contains some of the critical Bible knowledge that students are expected to have acquired during their seminary studies, so you should not spend too much time studying to try and pass the test the first time. It is best for student to take the test without preparation so student and faculty can gauge the biblical knowledge of the incoming class.
The exam takes place through the learning management system, Canvas. You can add the test to your first term by emailing registrar@covenantseminary.edu and having your advisor add it during advising.
*DMin and ThM Students are not required to take the Bible Content Exam.
Info for Residential Students:
HOUSING: Talk to your admissions representative about seminary-owned housing options. To be placed on the housing list for on-campus housing, you can contact the Housing Coordinator, Daniel Owen, at housing@covenantseminary.edu. For additional options, Covenant has a housing board on MyCTS to find roommates and housing opportunities in the city. You can find this board on MyCTS under the “Student Life” tab, where it is listed as “Housing Opportunities”.
HEALTH INSURANCE: Out of concern for students and their families, Covenant Seminary requires all students to obtain medical insurance for themselves and their dependents. Covenant Seminary does not have health insurance packages for our students, so you will be responsible for securing insurance on your own.
“COV-LOVE”: Cov-Love is a group designed to help Covenant Seminary students and families by providing an easy forum to ask questions and share information––a place to “share the love,” so to speak. To sign up, email Cov-Love+subscribe@groups.io with your first and last name or your spouse’s first and last name if they are the only student in your family.
JOBS: Start looking for part-time jobs that will be flexible with your seminary schedule. There is a regularly-updated virtual job board available on MyCTS under “Student Life” labeled “Job Opportunities”. It may be a helpful tool as you look for part-time jobs in the area.
