Multi-Factor Authentication Enforcement

Beginning January 3, 2023, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) will be enforced on all CTS user accounts (students, staff, and faculty).

MFA requires you to authenticate with multiple methods (e.g., a password and a text message to your phone) when you login to CTS resources like My CTS or Canvas. This exponentially increases the assurance that the person logging in is actually you. It is a small inconvenience to your login experience that pays large dividends in protecting yourself and the institution.

MFA only applies to accessing web applications (My CTS, Canvas, etc.) and will not be enforced when logging into an institutional computer. Apps such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Calendly, and Zoom will each require one re-authentication, similar to when you reset your password.
