Set up SSL VPN with MFA

Set up MFA for VPN connection

Note: You must be on campus for this portion of the set up.
Open an internet browser and navigate to  https://10.10.10.5:4433 . This is the SonicWall Virtual Office website.
Note: Your browser may recognize this site as not private. As long as you are on campus, you can select Advanced > Proceed to 10.10.10.5 (unsafe)
Login with your CTS user credentials.
You will be prompted to set up a Temporary One Time Passcode (TOTP) by using an authenticator app and scanning a QR code. We recommend the  Microsoft Authenticator App .
In Microsoft Authenticator, tap the + in the top right corner.
Then, tap Work or school account.
    Then, tap Scan QR code.
After setting up the TOTP, you should see a new account in your authenticator app named SNWL. Tapping on this account in your authenticator app will reveal the TOTP that refreshes every 60 seconds.
Fill in the MFA code and complete the login process.
Once you have successfully logged in, you are finished with the SonicWall Virtual Office. You can logout.

SonicWall Net Extender on Windows

Note: The SonicWall Net Extender application is typically deployed by IT Services. If you do not have it installed on your Windows device, contact  helpdesk@covenantseminary.edu .
From off-campus (using a wireless hotspot, or when you get home), launch the SonicWall Net Extender app and ensure the following information is entered correctly. Then, click Connect.
    Username: <YOUR CTS EMAIL ADDRESS>
Password: <YOUR CTS USER ACCOUNT PASSWORD>
You should then be prompted to enter a code from your "bind App." This is the TOTP you set up in your Authenticator App earlier. Enter that now.
On first time logon to the VPN, you will be prompted to save an emergency code. This is useful if you lose or change your phone. Please record that number and keep it in a safe place.

SonicWall Mobile Connect on Mac

From off-campus, on Mac, open the App Store and download the SonicWall Mobile Connect app.
    Create a new connection:
    Name: CTS SSL VPN
    Username: <YOUR CTS EMAIL ADDRESS>
Password: <YOUR CTS USER ACCOUNT PASSWORD>
    Domain: Choose during login
    Protocol: Auto
    Click Connect.

Note: You can only connect to the VPN from off campus, or using a wireless hotspot.
